Willamette Bald Eagle Returns to the Wild in Downtown Portland

On Sunday afternoon the clouds cleared and the sun came out just as Lacy Campbell, the Wildlife Care Center Operations Manager, and Deb Sheaffer, the Care Center Veterinarian, arrived at Waterfront Park in downtown Portland with the Willamette Bald Eagle.

Hundreds of Oregonians gathered to watch as they released this large female back into the wild.

We put together a short video to show you her journey from rescue to release, a wonderful example of the kind of work our Care Center staff do everyday to save the lives of Oregon’s native wildlife. Thank you to everyone who came out!
