The Bird Days of Summer: Create & Bird – Poet Birds *FULL*
Spend the morning reconnecting with your creative self and the birds around you. Gathering with other creatives, we will take a laid back bird walk to gather inspiration. After, we’ll write out our inspos, using a few prompts to help us. Those ready to fly can share out their birdy poems.
We welcome everyone curious about birds, nature, and poetry to join in.
New to writing poetry? New to Birding? All you need is a little inspiration. Total beginners are welcome.
Check out the below birdy poem from poet and bird guide, Elsa.
The Poet’s Bird
by Elsa Hume
I see you hop,
hop hop,
then pause…
You are poised,
about to voice yourself——
Chin up,
eyes skyward,
kind heart
in a spotted chest,
stretched
from the understory
to the stars.
Just how far
can a heart stretch,
anyhow?
Beyond the bounds
of earth?
Teach us sublimity
with your sung words,
Hermit Thrush.
