Bird Alliance of Oregon Birding Day: Ankeny & Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge with Brodie Cass Talbott

The Willamette Valley refuges come alive in spring, as breeding birds ramp up their vocal display amidst the high traffic of northbound songbird and shorebird migrants. We’ll take the whole day to explore the wetlands, Oak Savannah, and ash forest that make this area a vital part of the Pacific Flyway.

Participants will drive themselves (or may carpool with members of their bubble or immediate family), meeting at Ankeny in the morning, and ending the day in the Baskett Slough area. This trip will feature several short hikes on mostly flat terrain, on gravel trails and wooden boardwalks.

Please be sure to enroll separately in the Intermediate Birding by Ear: Wetlands class, the companion course to this Bird Alliance of Oregon Birding Day.

*Meeting location will be emailed to you by your leader several days before the field trip.

Limited to 10 participants.

This outdoor program will require masks and follow all physical distancing and safety protocols dictated by the Oregon Health Administration. Scroll down for details.

$85 – $115
