Bird Alliance of Oregon Birding Day: Willamette Valley Refuges – Baskett Slough

Join Brodie Cass Talbott for a trip to Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge, the final trip in a series of Bird Alliance of Oregon Birding Days exploring the Willamette Valley Refuge System, a haven for wintering waterfowl, and a sanctuary for imperiled oak savanna habitat.

We will spend the day looking for waterfowl and raptors at one of the top birding hotspots in the Willamette Valley. Targets include White-tailed Kite, Merlin, Red-shouldered Hawk, and Tundra Swan.

Bring lunch and dress for the weather!

Transportation provided.

We will meet at the Tualatin Park & Ride North off Lower Boones Ferry Rd. To get there from Portland, take the Lower Boones Ferry Rd exit off I-5, go west and then take a right (north) on SW 72nd Ave circling around the Village Inn. To access the parking lot, take a right in another 250 ft. The parking lot is between I-5 and the Village Inn. We will meet at the north end of the parking lot. You can also paste the GPS coordinates into your browser: 45.396777, -122.748438. Note that this lot is on the north side of Lower Boones Ferry Rd.
