The Bird Days of Summer: Intro to Dragonflies w/ Columbia Slough Watershed Council *FULL*
*THIS PROGRAM IS FULL AND HAS A VERY LONG WAITLIST. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR INTEREST! WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING WAITLIST INQUIRIES.
We’re teaming up with Columbia Slough Watershed Council for an evening of dragonflies (v: dragonfly-ing). Thomas will give us the inside scoop on the estimated 22 dragonflies that make an appearance throughout Whitaker Ponds!
We’ll introduce you to the life history and ecology of these amazing flying mosquito-eaters, seeking skimmers and saddlebags, darners and dancers, pondhawks and meadowhawks, and more! Through binoculars, the technicolor wonder of these fascinating creatures really pops! Of course, we’ll stop to admire birds as well.
Absolute beginners are welcome. We will meet in the gazebo near the parking lot. Bring sun protection and water for the afternoon sun. Moquitos will be present, bring bug spray. Light drinks and snacks provided.
