Bird Photography Lightroom Tutorial with Faraaz Abdool

Adobe Lightroom is a powerful and popular photo editing software that while similar to its sister software Photoshop, has a greater emphasis on image editing and organization – with the latter program priding itself on its incredible image manipulation capabilities.

Most, if not all, of the world’s major photography competitions have guidelines prohibiting excessive manipulation; this class will explore the myriad of tools available to make the best images possible within these reasonable limits. This discussion shall involve a series of live conversions from RAW to JPEG, and we will touch on adjustments to exposure, contrast, levels, curves, color temperature, and quality. The various types of masking and their immense ability to transform images will form a considerable section of this session. Bird photography-specific tidbits will also be dispensed throughout this session, including tonality tricks for neutral feathers, “eye doctor” tips, and much more.
