Real Bird Food

Discover the fascinating world of bird diets and their critical role in urban ecosystems!

Did you know that 96% of US bird species primarily eat insects rather than seeds? Only a handful of species are granivores (animals that eat mostly seeds and grains), capable of surviving on seeds year-round. This class delves into the intricate relationships between plants, insects, birds, and wildlife, highlighting how they have co-evolved to depend on one another for survival.

We will explore how restoring urban ecosystems, one parcel at a time, can provide the essential sustenance that birds and their young need to thrive. Join Dawn Pisto from SymbiOp for this class in our Homes & Habitats Series to learn how you can contribute to creating a more balanced and supportive environment for our feathered friends.
