The famous Peruvian destinations of Cusco, and Machu Picchu are premier natural and cultural history sites that should be on the list of any traveler. From the cloud forest and valleys to the high Andes we will add an impressive list of birds and wildlife that makes this area a must see destination for birders while appreciating the rich cultural history of the area.
To explore this fascinating area we start our journey in Cusco, the capital city of the great Inca empire, where the birder and non-birder will find an incredible set of archaeological remains unique to this part of South America. Explore with us the cobbled stone streets of the city of Cusco, admire the mysterious citadel of Machu Picchu, all while you enjoy a dazzling assortment of birds, such as the Peruvian endemic Inca Wren.
