Birding Day: Birds of the Oregon Coast

Join us as we explore some of the best birding sites from Cannon Beach to Fort Stevens during the peak of spring migration. Some of our target species include Tufted Puffin, Pigeon Guillemot, Black Oystercatcher, Ruddy Turnstone, Bonaparte’s Gull, Surf and White-winged Scoters, and Pacific Loon. Shorebird migration should be in full swing and songbirds will be returning to nest.

You will drive yourself. Bring food and water. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
Your leader will send out meeting location details about one week before the program.

Join John Rakestraw during shorebird migration and explore some of the best sites from Seaside north to Fort Stevens.

Rest stops: We will be visiting several sites, with breaks in between.
