Through the Trees Collective presents: Black Birders Week “BIPOC Birding Hike”

Join us for a rejuvenating morning of exploration and connection at Through The Trees Collective’s BIPOC Birding Hike – the final event of T3C Black Birders Week ’24 series.

Hosted at the beautiful Bird Alliance of Oregon’s Nature Preserve, this event invites BIPOC community members of all ages the chance to come and immerse themselves in the serenity of nature and the joy of birdwatching.

We’ll kick things off with a grounding circle, setting intentions for the day and connecting with the land and each other on a deeper level. Next, we will embark on an easy hike and journey along one of the nature preserve’s scenic trails – where staff from the Bird Alliance of Oregon will share their knowledge and assist in the identification of diverse bird and plant species found in the area.

Our adventure concludes with a light lunch, providing an opportunity to not only nourish our bodies, but reflect on and share our experiences to create lasting bonds within our collective communities. This event encourages everyone to enjoy the healing power of birds and the outdoors – all in a space that feels safe and inclusive!

This event is made possible through the support of the amazing folks at the Bird Alliance of Oregon, and is held in partnership with Black AF In Stem – the creators of the national Black Birders Week.
