Bird Alliance of Oregon Birding Day: Central Coast Winter Birding with Brodie Cass Talbott *FULL*

Winter along the Oregon Coast can be a great time to find uncommon avian visitors to the state. We’ll start the day at Salishan, watching for waterfowl and listening for songbirds waking up, before making our way to Boiler Bay to look for loons, grebes, and alcids, including the uncommon Ancient Murrelet. With luck, we may find the uncommon Rock Sandpiper along the way. We’ll finish our day at Newport, searching for Brant, Bonaparte’s Gull, Long-tailed Duck, and wintering shorebirds.

This is a self-driving trip. Bring lunch and dress for the weather. We’ll meet near Salishan Coastal Lodge in Gleneden Beach (2 hour, 15 minutr drive from Portland). More details of the meeting location will be sent by the leader the week before.
