Dragonfly Basics, Part I with Stefan Schlick
Often birdwatchers develop an interest in dragonflies, but there are a lot fewer resources available. So, where do you start? We will discuss what a dragonfly is, including a brief look at anatomy, life cycle, and terminology. Then we will discuss what you need to know in general about looking for dragonflies. We will use a small amount of terminology, so this is a class for hobby naturalists.
There are, at most, 25 local species you need to know and never more than 12-15 at a time. Learn how to identify those species and how/when to look for them. In this first part, we will start with darners.
