Field Class: Birding by Ear, Singing and Nesting with Laura Whittemore
In this two-session field class with longtime ear birder Laura Whittemore you’ll get to know the songs and calls of resident and migrant songbirds such as Song Sparrow, Bewick’s Wren, American Robin, Black-headed Grosbeak, Common Yellowthroat, and Swainson’s Thrush. This time of year adds a new layer of sound and behavior: adults are busy feeding nestlings and fledglings, and the sounds of youngsters add exciting challenges to the soundscape.
