Field Trip: Spring Birding at Powell Butte Nature Park *FULL*
Join Ross as we hike through the varied habitats of Powell Butte Nature Park, which include open meadows and savanna, mixed forested edges, and sloped stands of old-growth cedar. We will be looking for any and all spring migrants, returning breeders, and any lingering wintering species.
- The main entrance (north side of the park) is at the intersection of SE 162nd Ave. and SE Powell Blvd, and we will meet at the visitor center above the adjoining parking lots.
- Please remember to bring binoculars and appropriate layered clothing, as well as any drinks and desired snacks.

Accessibility
Walking distance: Up to 5 miles.
Elevation changes: Mostly flat along river; moderate grade at halfway point, 300 feet elevation gain.
Trail: Mostly narrow dirt or small rocky trails; asphalt or paved roads in parking areas and boat ramps.
Pacing: Slow
Rest stops: Possibly an occasional bench near campground
Sun exposure: Treed and partially shaded by campground, full sun for most of hike
Amenities (bathrooms and parking): Vault toilets and potable water at campground. Small parking lot at trailhead.
