Field Trip: Birding the Sandy River Delta with Brodie Cass Talbott & Tara Lemezis *FULL*

Join Brodie and Tara in exploring the Sandy River Delta. The open habitat and proximity to water make the delta a productive place for early open country migrants, and can be a great place to search for shrikes, Say’s Phoebes, Yellow-breasted Chat, and a variety of migrating birds, sparrows and raptors.

Notes on location and parking

The entirety of the Sandy River Delta is a popular off-leash dog park. Folks with a fear of dogs should probably pass, as there are some extra friendly pups out there. Additionally, the park can be very muddy in the spring. We will be hiking on flat trails, but will hike for 3-4 miles on uneven terrain. Appropriate footwear (muck boots or waterproof hiking boots) is a must.

Ahead of the trip, please pay the new $5.00 per vehicle per day fee at the machine (credit cards only) in the parking lot. Or, display a valid pass: NW Forest Pass. Oregon & Washington State passes NOT accepted.

Limited to 12 participants.

Masks are optional on this outdoor program.
