Field Trip: Sandy River Delta with Brodie Cass Talbott

Join Brodie in exploring the Sandy River Delta and, time allowing, nearby habitat. The open habitat and proximity to water make the delta a productive place for early open country migrants, and can be a great place to search for shrikes, Say’s Phoebes, and a variety of sparrows and raptors. If time allows, we will visit habitat nearby in Troutdale.

Please note: The entirety of the Sandy River Delta is a popular off-leash dog park. Additionally, the park can be very muddy in the spring. We will be hiking on flat trails, but will hike for 3-4 miles on uneven terrain. Appropriate footwear (muck boots or waterproof hiking boots) is a must.

*Meeting location will be emailed to you by your leader several days before the field trip.

Limited to 10 participants.

This outdoor program will require masks and follow all physical distancing and safety protocols dictated by the Oregon Health Administration. Scroll down for details.
