Field Trip: Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge *4 spots left*
The Tualatin River National Wildlife refuge is one of the nation’s few urban National Wildlife Refuges, and hosts an incredible amount of bird life in spring. We’ll spend the morning walking the newly opened trails, enjoying large numbers of waterfowl like Cinnamon Teal in their breeding best, keep an eye out for migrant shorebirds like Long-billed Dowitcher and Greater Yellowlegs, and walk through the woods listening for the sweet songs of returning songbirds like Wilson’s Warbler and Orange-crowned Warbler.
Explore one of the nation's only urban wildlife refuges!
Early May is the best time to visit this iconic National Wildlife Refuge, as the trails open, and large numbers of waterfowl, shorebirds, and songbirds migrate through.
