Field Class: Habitat Gardening – Taking It To the Next Level
Whether you have been working on your backyard habitat for years or are interested in starting this journey, you’ll benefit from this class. Learn how to use various resources to figure out what your specific piece of land used to look like and what specific plants would likely have grown there in pre-settlement times. Use this information to diversify your plantings and attract a wider range of species. The class will be in the restoration area on Jane’s Sauvie Island property and we’ll be walking around to look at plants and plantings.
Class instructor Jane Hartline is not only the owner of Sauvie Island Nursery, but has been involved for years in larger-scale botany and restoration projects through the West Multnomah Conservation District, Oregon State Parks and the Coalition for Oregon Land Trusts.
