*FULL* Hawaii: Big Island Hiking and Birding

Join us on a hiking and birding extravaganza on the Big Island! The Hawaiian Islands comprise the world’s most isolated archipelago, and the Big Island provides a vast and varied arena of natural and cultural history to discover. This new, active ecotour will be limited to 10 participants and will explore many of Hawaii’s most exciting and diverse ecosystems on foot.

Join the waitlist to travel with us to Northeast Oregon!

This Ecotour is full. Please join the waitlist and we'll notify as cancellations occur.

Expect to enjoy a variety of terrains and distances on this adventure as we seek out colorful Hawaiian honeycreepers including I’Iwi, Apapane and Amakihi in Volcanoes National Park, open-country specialties like the Hawaiian Hawk, Black Francolin, and the endangered Nene in the interior grasslands, the charming ‘Elepaio and the elusive Akiapola’au on montane slopes plus various marine birds on both coasts.

We’ll investigate Hawaii’s rich natural and cultural history at the Pu’u Loa Petroglyphs and the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens, visit lush rainforests and quiet, sandy beaches, and we’ll be sure to take time out for Hawaii’s many aquatic wonders, including Humpback Whales, Spinner Dolphins, Sea Turtles, and abundant tropical fish.
