Bird Alliance of Oregon Birding Day: Welcome Back, Puffins! with Brodie Cass Talbott *FULL*
Join Brodie Cass Talbott, Educator and Trips Specialist as we visit some of Oregon’s most iconic and beloved places and birds.
We’ll start the day at Cannon Beach, where we should have the opportunity to search for Tufted Puffin, freshly back from their wintering grounds and busily scouting out nesting burrows at Haystack Rock. After we’ve had our fill of seabirds and shorebirds, we’ll visit wetlands in Cannon Beach looking for early migrant songbirds. Then we’ll head south to Nehalem Bay State Park, where we’ll search for the local population of Snowy Plover and learn about Bird Alliance of Oregon’s efforts to monitor their breeding success.
This is a self-driving trip. Participants should dress for the weather and bring all the food and drinks they will need for the day.
*Meeting location will be emailed to you by your leader several days before the field trip.
Limited to 10 participants.
