August 4 @ 8:30 am - August 8 @ 3:30 pm
Redwoods (Monday, Aug 4-SATURDAY, Aug 9 — Overnight Monday-Saturday)
*Please note that this camp begins on Monday, August 4 and ENDS Saturday, August 9
Walk amongst the ancients as we immerse ourselves within some of the oldest Redwood forests along the northern California coast. We’ll travel by bus down to Jedidiah Smith State Park and stay at an Outdoor School site right in the heart of the thick Redwood forest where Banana Slugs, Marbled Murrelets, and other wildlife call these huge, majestic trees home.
Discover the ecology of the area by hiking amongst these ancient giants, feeling the fog they create, and turning over logs to see what secrets lie beneath. Speak with local ranger to learn about the struggle to save these trees and the efforts being made to protect them for generations to come. We’ll hike, tide pool, swim and connect ourselves to this unique place and each other.
