Bird Journals: Simplify and Suggest with Jude Siegel
Join Jude to learn how to see differently and how to drop unrealistic artistic expectations of yourself. Start or continue your bird journal. No art or birding experience is needed! For joy, not mastery! Keeping a bird journal is fun, easy, portable, and a creative, relaxing way to record your experiences with birds.
Learn to simplify your drawings in this immersive class. You’ll learn to see the major shapes first. then a few details will do, and your drawings will be more dynamic and have more life. With more practice you’ll learn to see what is there, get through the fear, and become more comfortable with the learning process. Drawing and painting birds are an excellent practice for relaxing in nature – join us!

Learn to bird journal!
In this class, we'll practice simple exercises in observation, drawing and fun ways to add some watercolor, with relaxation, acceptance, and a way to get some birds on those journal pages!

Fee: $55 members / $75 non-members per session
Where: This class will be held upstairs in Heron Hall at Bird Alliance of Oregon, 5151 NW Cornell Road, Portland, OR 97210 unless otherwise noted.
When: Saturday, April 26, 2025, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Supply List: Please bring supplies in a pack you can carry easily. Read carefully before you go to the store and contact Jude (colorfuljude@gmail.com) with questions.
Bring lunch, snacks, and a water bottle.
