Urban Wildlife Information Network (UWIN): Camera Trap Training and Volunteer Meet-Up

Are you interested in learning what species of mammals and birds live in Portland parks and green spaces? So are we! The UWIN PDX project tracks urban wildlife using camera traps, working with community members to place cameras along habitat corridors and identify the many squirrels, songbirds, and other species photographed. UWIN PDX is part of a worldwide wildlife monitoring effort initiated by Lincoln Park Zoo called the Urban Wildlife Information Network (UWIN) designed to compare wildlife data among multiple cities and regions. We have partnered with the Oregon Wildlife Foundation, Portland State University, the Samara Group, LLC, and Bird Alliance of Oregon to collect species data here in Portland for the last three years and counting!
