Urban Wildlife Information Network (UWIN): A Wildlife Trail Cam Community Science Program
Join Portland UWIN Coordinator Hunter Storm, Bird Alliance of Oregon Staff Scientist, Joe Liebezeit, and Samara Group Director, Leslie Bliss-Ketchum, PhD for a presentation about a new program monitoring urban wildlife with automated trail cameras. This is part of a North American wide effort initiated by Lincoln Park Zoo called the Urban Wildlife Information Network (UWIN) with many cities participating including Portland. The event will include background on the goals of the project, how it will help inform urban wildlife management and a training on volunteer engagement.
This virtual event will be held Tuesday June 22 from 6:30-7:30pm, followed by a field orientation for 3-5 volunteers. To sign up for this event please contact Hunter Storm at stormhun@pdx.edu. If you are interested in being a UWIN volunteer let her know! To learn more about UWIN click here.
