Virtual Black Oystercatcher Community Science Training
Black Oystercatchers are a striking and easily recognizable bird in which we share our coast. It is also a species of conservation concern because of its small population size and vulnerability to a variety of impacts. Our work with this bird is helping in or efforts to protect rocky shoreline habitats. Learn more about the Black Oystercatcher Project.
If you would like to learn more about this amazing bird and are interested in helping with Bird Alliance of Oregon’s community science effort to monitor oystercatchers on the coast, consider attending this training. The training will cover Black Oystercatcher life history, conservation challenges they face, and instructions on how to participate in our nest monitoring program.
Our training this year is: April 28 / 6:30 – 8 p.m.
Partners: USFWS, USGS, Friends of Cape Falcon, Haystack Rock Awareness Program, Friends of Haystack Rock, Bird Alliance of Oregon Society of Lincoln City, Cape Arago Bird Alliance of Oregon, Kalmiopsis Bird Alliance of Oregon
