Watercolor Painting with Ronna: The Northern Flicker
This is an interactive, live, online art class on Zoom.
Join this live, online class to paint the Northern Flicker alongside Ronna Fujisawa, an experienced watercolor painter, art educator, and bird enthusiast. The class is held via Zoom Meetings to allow participants to use their videos and create a more interactive class. Appropriate for intermediate and ambitious beginners.
The one bird call that really stands out to me is that of the Northern Flicker. This colorful woodpecker is often seen in the grass looking for ants. We will paint the male red-shafted Northern Flicker, along with the many black spots and markings along his underparts. Learn the art of watercolor and the subtle ways to achieve a busy pattern in bird feathers with a simple and limited palette. Ronna has some tricks up her sleeve to achieve beautiful and realistic bird watercolor paintings.
Students can paint along with Ronna during this live class or work at their own pace with access to the recording of the class after the session.
