Willamette Valley Ecology Series with Dan van den Broek and Candace Larson *FULL*

Gain a deeper relationship with our very own Willamette Valley ecoregion during this three-week intensive with Dan van den Broek and Candace Larson.  From geology to lepidoptery with plenty of birding and botanizing along the way, we’ll take a deep dive into the natural and cultural history of the place we call home. We’ll enjoy the splendor of skimmers and skippers, larkspur and lupine, and a rainbow of avian diversity, all dazzling during their spring peaks. We’ll investigate the human pressure on the land, what’s being done to protect critical habitat and how you can play a part in its restoration.

This series includes: three online class sessions focusing on the ecology of the valley, including life histories of a wide variety of plants, birds and insects, plus tips, tricks and practice with field identification, all provided through a combination of lecture, online quizzes, helpful handouts and live interaction with your instructors.  We’ll bring our learnings to the field during three exciting, all-day trips to various hotspots throughout the Willamette Valley.
