The UWIN PDX project tracks urban wildlife using camera traps, working with community members to place cameras along habitat corridors. Join us for an evening to celebrate the hard work of our current volunteers and welcome new volunteers interested in joining the project. Nature Night: Conserving Coastal Birds

Coastal birds live on the edge- at the interface between land and sea, the place where these birds call home is wild, unpredictable, and unforgiving, but for some birds, it's just another day at the beach. In this talk, Allison Anholt will share fascinating information about our coastal birds, from the rare coastal residents like Tufted Puffin and Snowy Plover, to the seabirds that nest in giant groups all along our coast.

In-Person Snowy Plover Patrol Training – April 20, 2024

We will be hosting an in-person training to participate in the Plover Patrol. The first two hours will be the indoor learning portion and broken into four modules, followed by an optional two hour field trip to the Nehalem Snowy Plover Management Area to practice observing plovers (weather dependent). This training will cover all relevant topics needed to understand Snowy Plovers and what we can do to help them.
