Discover the fascinating mammals that call Oregon's marshy habitats home, from otters and beavers to muskrats and deer. Through guided hikes, specimen exploration, and a little beaver dam building of our own, campers will learn about the diverse creatures that thrive in Oregon's wetlands and how they adapt and support its unique environment. We will talk about the importance of wetland conservation and how we can help make a paws-itive difference in the lives of some of Oregon's favorite furry friends.
What has 6 legs, an exoskeleton, 2 antennae and compound eyes? Insects that's who! Sing songs and investigate specimens to learn what makes insects special. Turn over logs, look under leaves and search the trails for these small but mighty creatures. Learn how to help support insects in your own communities and create colorful insect inspired stain glass to take home with you. In just one day, campers will step into a world of nature stories, discovering the secrets whispered by the trees and the hidden lives of forest creatures. Through fun storytelling and hiking through the sanctuary, campers will explore the forest's rich ecosystem while creating their own forest-inspired tales to bring home.
