The measure does not increase taxes. It continues funding of the levy at the existing tax rate of 9.6 cents per $1,000 of assessed value.
Some people ask, “didn’t we pass a greenspace bond measure a couple of years ago and how is this different?” The answer is yes! Over two thirds of voters across the Metro Region overwhelmingly supported a Greenspace Bond Measures in 2019. Bond measures fund capital expenses such as land acquisition while levy’s support operational expenses such as maintenance, restoration, and nature programs. The two go hand in hand and both are critical to the success of our amazing system of parks and natural areas.
We need your help to ensure that this measure passes! Voters have consistently shown very strong support for greenspace ballot measures, but this will be a crowded ballot and it’s critical that we are able to get the word out. There are several ways you can help including spreading the word among your friends, endorsing (either individually or as an organization) and donating to the campaign. Please donate if you can—every bit helps.

We have an amazing system of parks and natural areas but we also have much to do to ensure that they are maintained, restored, and that everyone has access to nature and nature programs. This measure is about continuing the work of creating a region that has clean water, healthy fish and wildlife populations, and is climate resilient and equitable.
