Join Us to Support Portland Clean Energy Fund on May 14

Calling all supporters of climate justice—we need you to show up this Tuesday, May 14 to protect the Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF)!

Portland City Council is holding a public work session about PCEF, and it will be a great chance to clearly demonstrate to Portland City Council that PCEF is about community led climate justice. We are asking supporters to attend the work session and demonstrate the strength of our movement. The staff presentation will review the program’s beginnings, its major accomplishments to date, and ongoing evolution (see recent blog post). Attending the work session next week will be an excellent opportunity to get up to speed on the exciting work it has laid out over the next five years. There will be no opportunity for public testimony.

Since its inception, PCEF has invested millions in our communities and critical climate programs in our city. Now it’s under threat from certain politicians who want to overturn the will of the voters and divert money to projects unrelated to climate. But by joining together, we can protect PCEF and make our city a leader in climate action that invests in the communities most impacted by climate change.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
