Take Action
There are two ways you can help us fight for Forest Park:
- Submit comments (contact info and talking points below) to the Hearings Officer, your City Councilors, AND the Mayor by 4 p.m. on Feb. 5th. (If you already submitted comments to the City in late 2024, please submit again)
- Join us at the Watch Party on Jan. 29! We’re partnering with the Oregon Chapter of the Sierra Club and will provide coffee and donuts, a live stream on a big screen, and guidance on how to testify over Zoom (in a separate quiet room). See civic engagement in action and have your voice heard, while surrounded by friends and fellow advocates. Click here to RSVP, and for more information.
Comments can be sent via email. Include the Hearings Officer, all 3 City Councilors from your district, and the Mayor as the recipients. If you live outside of the City of Portland, feel free to include the hearings officer, Mayor and any assortment of City Council members.

Talking Points:
- PGE’s proposed development directly contradicts the top priority in the Forest Park Natural Resources Management Plan, which is to manage the forest towards old growth.
- PGE’s proposed mitigation plan does not meet the Forest Park Natural Resources Management Plan requirement that mitigation must occur in the same management unit.
- PGE’s Alternatives Analysis shows there are possible routes located primarily outside Forest Park to build the proposed infrastructure improvements that only PGE independently qualified as infeasible.
- Approval of this project could set a precedent for future phases of PGE’s project and other development in Forest Park, further compromising the Forest Park Natural Resources Management Plan.
