Window collisions are one of the top three conservation threats for birds, killing up to 1 billion birds in North America each year. Most of the action taken to prevent these collision deaths has been at the state and city level, and it is time for federal leadership on this critical conservation issue.
The Bird Safe Buildings Act is cost-neutral legislation that would promote bird-friendly construction materials and ensure that ecologically sustainable building design approaches are integrated into federal buildings.
Please urge your members of Congress to cosponsor and support the Bird-Safe Buildings Act, a common-sense solution to help reduce bird mortality from collisions with buildings.
