Living with Urban Wildlife
The Portland-area is home to more than 300 species of birds, fish, mammals, and more. Wildlife are part of our landscape, and their diversity and abundance are just a few of the many reasons Portland is such an incredible place to call home.
But sometimes living with urban wildlife can get complicated. Deer get into our gardens, skunks den under porches, crows raid garbage cans, and woodpeckers bang loudly on houses. How do we responsibly resolve conflicts with wild animals who share our urban forest, backyards, parks, and city streets?
We’re here to help. Check out our resources below to learn more about local animals and how you can help to reduce wildlife hazards and conflicts in your backyard and neighborhood.
