Birdathon 2024
Have fun and raise money to protect Oregon’s birds!
Teams go out April 27 – June 2
Birdathon is the uniquely Bird Alliance of Oregon way to help protect Oregon’s native birds. Now in its 44th year, Birdathon is one of our most beloved traditions, bringing people together to raise funds to protect birds while watching birds. Everyone is welcome – expert birders, casual birdwatchers and beginners! Like a walk-a-thon, Birdathon participants (Birdathoners) collect pledges and donations from friends, family members, and coworkers for finding and counting bird species. This year we hope to raise over $188,000 to support Bird Alliance of Oregon’s work across Oregon.
How to Participate
There are many ways to join Birdathon and make a difference for wildlife. At registration you can choose which option works for you.
-
- Join a team! Coming soon – check back in mid-March.
- Create your own team! Go birding with a group of friends.
- Solo Birdathon! Go out on your own or with members of your household.
- Can’t join a team this year? Support a team or Birdathoner through a donation.

For teams that travel by van, participants must take a home COVID-19 test within 24 hours before trip departure, and only attend the trip if the test is negative. Mask-wearing is optional. For carpool teams and teams without shared transportation, mask-wearing and COVID testing are optional.
