Field Trip: Powell Butte Nature Park
Join Ross as we hike through the varied habitats of Powell Butte Nature Park, which include open meadows and savanna, mixed forested edges, and sloped stands of old-growth cedar. The main entrance (north side of the park) is at the intersection of SE 162nd Ave. and SE Powell Blvd, and we will meet at the visitor center above the adjoining parking lots.
We will be looking for any and all spring migrants, as well as returning breeders, such as Lazuli Bunting, Common Yellowthroat, Purple Finch, and Savannah Sparrow.
Please remember to bring binoculars and appropriate layered clothing, as well as any drinks and desired snacks.
