The Bird Days of Summer: BIPOC Birding featuring Ice Queen
This event is reserved for people of color/ apart of the BIPOC community.
Join Camelia for an evening of summer birding at Whitaker Ponds. We will hope to spot swallows, songbirds, and possible baby birds. We will kick off the night with amazing vegan palentas sponsored by Ice Queen! This event is in partnership with People of Color Outdoors.

Meeting Location: Whitaker Ponds under the gazebo.
Distance: up to 1 mile
Trail Tread & Width: Mostly Gravel road; some single track packed dirt
Elevation Changes: up to 10 ft.
Pacing: Slow w/ frequent stops.
Amenities: Single user Porta Potty
Public Transit: TriMet bus #75 makes a stop at the corner of NE 47th Avenue and Columbia Blvd and visitors can walk north from there to the park entrance.

Join Bird Alliance of Oregon’s Education and Conservation Team for The Bird Days of Summer, a series of free, super beginner-friendly programs for anyone curious about birds in nature. We’re combining community-building, exploration, and fun to create safe spaces for people to get to know each other as well as the birds. Binoculars will be provided, and we’ll begin each program with a short “how-to” to help you get started.
