The Bird Days of Summer: Birds & Bevvies at Topaz Farm *FULL*
Experience birding Topaz Farm on Sauvie Island! Topaz Farm is a regenerative family farm with amazing farm fresh drinks and food.
On this night for beginner bird watchers, we will have special access to explore Topaz Farm, in areas typically not open to the public. We’ll kick off the night with cool drinks and optional farm food for purchase before a chill evening of farm birding.
Sauvie Island hosts an amazing year round bird population and Topaz Farm’s regenerative farm provides a beneficial habitat for wildlife. During our special access walk along Topaz Farm we may see raptors, waterfowl, and swallows!
Binoculars provided. We will meet in the Topaz Farm parking lot near the restrooms. For public transit take the Tri-Met #16 bus to the Sauvie Island Park and Ride (NW Sauvie Island Rd. & Gillihan Rd.). A shuttle car option is available from the Park & Ride stop to Topaz Farm.
Pacing: Slow, with frequent standing stops to view and listen for birds.
Amenities: ADA Accessible restrooms.
Public Transit: For public transit take the Tri-Met #16 bus to the Sauvie Island Park and Ride (NW Sauvie Island Rd. & Gillihan Rd.). A shuttle car option is available from the Park & Ride stop to Topaz Farm.
Rest Stops: None during the walk. Aferwards we will sit at picnic tables for drinks/food

Trail Tread and Width: Trails are uneven dirt and gravel.
Exposure: Full evening sun exposure. Some pockets of shade.

We’re combining community-building, exploration, and fun to create safe spaces for people to get to know each other as well as the birds. Binoculars will be provided, and we’ll begin each program with a short “how-to” to help you get started.
