Delintment Lake Hike

Meet at Sinclair gas station at the southern end of Hines (near Burns-Hines Logging Road) at 8:00. We will caravan to Delintment Lake, arriving around 9:30. Starting at the dam, we’ll make our way around Delintment, looking for Williamson’s Sapsuckers, waterfowl, and other passerines. After the almost 2-mile hike around the lake, we’ll have the option to meander up the Delintment Creek Trail. This trail travels through a burn scar from a 2007 fire and going can be rough due to downed snags. We’ll travel about 1-mile up the trail, looking for shrub-loving forest birds, before heading back toward the dam.

Length: approximately 2-miles around Delintment Lake, approximately 2-miles on the Delintment Creek Trail, for a total of approximately 4-miles.

Accessibility: This trail is undeveloped and unmaintained, it has an uneven surface and often requires climbing over downed snags/logs.
