Field Trip: Fernhill for Beginners with Stefan Schlick
Join Stefan for a 1-mile loop around Fernhill Wetlands in Forest Grove. We will look at all bird species while focusing on the basics. Waterfowl is most abundant, but there should also be some raptors, little birds, and maybe shorebirds.
Don’t forget to bring binoculars; that’s all you are going to need.
How do you decide whether this field trip is right for you:
If you have seen a Lincoln’s Sparrow before, you are way beyond the level for this field trip, and it may feel slow to you. This walk is suitable for you if you don’t know Lincoln’s Sparrow. If you’ve heard about Lincoln’s Sparrow but have never seen one, you may be in the right class as well!
*Please note the location of Fernhill Wetlands is in Forest Grove, not Portland, at 1399 SW Fern Hill Rd, Forest Grove, OR 97116
