Birding with a Camera with Faraaz Abdool

Birding with a camera involves several very specific skills that are unique to this field. While aesthetics are not the main priority, it is important for the photograph to render the bird well enough to be properly identified.

In this session we will be discussing how to set up your camera for birding, how to be ready for the moment, how to assess your expected experiences and plan to suit, how to choose specific focus modes for different birding environments (including manual focus), how to ensure that the bird is always exposed properly, the importance of colour rendition and field markings and ensuring that these are captured in the image, and much more. At least basic proficiency with a camera is required.
